It has been a while since I did my last open thread. Since I have a bunch of new subscribers, I sometimes think I talk a little too much about myself, so I wanted to give you the chance to come and talk about whatever you would like!
I’d love to get to know more about you and why you followed, but also, feel free to:
Connect with others in the community
Promote your work
Talk about your hobbies
Ask life’s most difficult questions
Whatever!
But a bit of housekeeping first…
In case you missed it, I posted the second part of my essays about that wily rascal, Jean-Paul Marat. You can read part one here.
Secondly, I’ve been toying with the idea of opening a second section of The Charrette to discuss social media and content marketing. As some of you know I did social media marketing professionally for 10 years, and I just got out of the Substack Grow program. I know a lot of writers here aren’t sure how to use social media to promote their Substack and don’t know what tools are available to them.
Would you be interested if I started a new section of this Substack dedicated to social media marketing?

Also, if you want to ask social media marketing questions below, go right ahead. I’ll help you troubleshoot.
The cynical side of me is reminded of the old SNL skit about the little shop in the mall that sells tape. The only customers were other niche stores in the mall. Sadly, I cannot find a link on youtube.
I do have high hopes for the substack model. It's what the world needs now.

I think we see eye to eye on many things!
Thank you!! I’ll have to see if I can find that. Old SNL was great.
'Twas great in its day.
*waves* :)
I'm Mark, I also have a Substack and I wish you all the best, Kathleen!
Thanks, Mark! I always love seeing your posts! :) *waves*
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind words!
Oooh! Which series was it? I should put it on my list. I also have Scottish heritage!
